Chapter 2

It’s December of 2011. I took the month off from trading. I had to get a hold on my health. Something wasn’t right. Did I have cancer? Was I dying? What point was all this wealth if I wasn’t going to live?

My boss wasn’t too happy about it. If I didn’t trade, he lost out on serious cash. Cash he needed to pay his mortgage and finance his vehicles.

I told him I had to take off. I was still going to the bathroom six times a day in the morning.

Did I mention my relationship with my girlfriend was on the rocks? There was nothing wrong with her. I just wasn’t happy. With everything I had, I wasn’t happy.

Still, we booked a vacation for a week to Turks and Caicos. It was really nice. There was hardly anyone there where we were staying. We had the place to ourselves.

December came and went, and soon it was time to return to trading. Only, nothing had changed.

“I need another month off.” I said to my boss.

His reply was, “The job might not be here when you get back.”

No matter. I didn’t care. I knew I needed time off.

Around the beginning of January my girlfriend decided she wanted to have a dinner party.
